NES Technology Service (NTS) has created a strategic programme for the transformation of digital based services to allow NES to become a leading digital organisation in Scottish Health, digital by default and fully aligned with the Scottish Government’s technology strategies.

The Opportunity
We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our highly talented Infrastructure & Operations team. Working within the NES Technology Service (NTS) the successful candidate will pay a key role in shaping how all Infrastructure & Operations services are delivered, and in doing so enable delivery of the NES Strategy 2023-2026 and assist NTS in our contribution to delivering against the Scottish Government Digital Health and Care Strategy and Data Strategy.
NTS is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Principal lead to lead the Operations team, and lead on the Operational aspects of the Infrastructure & Operations remit.
Key areas within the remit of the successful candidate will be IT Service Management, including Key performance reporting, the NTS Service Desk, Microsoft 365 including Digital Identity, and Software & Asset Management.
It is anticipated that upon the completion of the ongoing NTS Organisational Change process, that the successful candidate will head up a team of upwards of 15 individuals.

What We Love to See
Principal Leads in Infrastructure & Operations offer a broad range of skills and experience, if you can offer some or all of these, we’d love you to apply:
Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders in order to participate in the planning and delivery of defined strategies
IT Service Management experience, including reporting
Highly experienced in leading teams to deliver Microsoft 365 solutions and services
Experience of building relationships across NHS Scotland and operating on a national level. Collaborating on national solutions and working with colleagues in other boards to promote single solutions, and ways of working
Highly effective at identifying and implementing process improvements and building successful teams through understanding team styles and influencing and motivating team members
Confidently lead in all aspects of modern, cloud-first technology architecture, design and delivery
Proven experience of coaching, leading and managing Service Desk colleagues
Demonstrate honesty, integrity, care and compassion when dealing with others, utilising tact and persuasion skills when necessary
Highly effective communicator knowing how to make complex technical information and language simple for diverse senior internal and external stakeholders (both verbally and in writing)
Line management and coaching/mentoring experience
Ability to work on own initiative, to organise and prioritise own workloads and that of others, and to meet strict deadlines
