A vacancy has arisen for an experienced registered nurse to join the Senior Research Nurse team at the Golden Jubilee Research Institute.

The vacancy is for the Scottish Pulmonary Vascular Unit (SPVU) portfolio for the therapy area of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). PAH is badged with ‘Orphan Disease’ status by the WHO. It is a vibrant and hopeful field of research, globally and in specialist centres such as the SPVU. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of high impact research aiming to improve the lives of patients. 

We are seeking to appoint an individual with a strong background in clinical or research nursing, or both.  Experience of cardiac and respiratory nursing would be most relevant to the therapy area. Active support and training will be given to the successful applicant to grow their knowledge of the speciality, its treatments and interventions. Clinical research experience is desirable but not essential. The successful applicant will receive training in clinical research and have the support of the SPVU team and wider research support team at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital. Applicants should have excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.

The successful applicant will work under the supervision of the Research Team Lead for the National Service Division (NSD) portfolio and will work with the multi-professional team that supports the SPVU portfolio of research projects.

18.75 hours per week, with an expectation of flexibility when required. The post will be fixed term for 18 months.
