This is a fixed term position of 12 months
The purpose of this post is the audit, review and outcome management of women affected by the no cervix exclusion incident in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and the Argyll & Bute area of NHS Highland. A purpose built audit database with links to Scottish Cervical Call Recall system (SCCRS) is in place to manage patient record flow through the review process.
The post holder will have extensive knowledge of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and have the appropriate clinical skills relevant to the appointment.
The post holder will provide expert clinical review of those records where the clinical evidence is inconclusive, and apply appropriate outcome management on the audit database in line with national guidance. The post holder will undertake internal quality assurance processes to ensure that clinical audit protocols are robustly followed.
The role requires excellent communication skills to liaise with the audit team, patients, GP practices, nurses, public health and consultant gynecology colleagues. This post will be part of a newly created multi-disciplinary team comprising of gynecology senior staff, nurse reviewers, public health and call recall programme manager and admin staff. The post holder can work remotely once familiar with the functions and workflows of the audit. There can be various working hours and patterns considered including regular planned meetings with wider audit team. The audit and roles are expected to be concluded in 1 year.
