An opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Trials Nurse within our Research, Development and Innovation Team based at University Hospital Crosshouse, Kilmarnock.

What you will do:

You will be based in University Hospital Crosshouse but will work across the organisation supporting the team and multi- disciplinary healthcare providers to promote patient participation in Clinical Trials in both University Hospitals Crosshouse and Ayr.

Activities will include supporting and monitoring of research participants and the collection and documentation of accurate research data. You will have a specific remit to ensure recruitment targets are met and there is adherence to agreed protocols for clinical trials supporting both commercial and non-commercial studies hosted by NHS Ayrshire & Arran.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

As well as being a registered nurse with current NMC registration, you will have a basic knowledge of research principles, including confidentiality, informed consent, randomisation procedures, and ethical issues. Research experience is desirable but not essential, however you should be working in an oncology setting or have experience in cancer services

Attention to detail, strong organisational and communication skills, good IT skills and a methodical approach are key requirements along with a proven ability to work as part of a team.

Please note this job is a fixed term for 18 months

Driving Licence/Car Ownership:

Although the post is based at University Hospital Crosshouse, you will be required to travel throughout NHS Ayrshire & Arran, therefore a current driving licence is essential.
