The Role:
We are looking to recruit a Clerical Officer to join the Pre-Assessment Team at University Hospital Wishaw!
The successful candidate will provide a patient administration service within the Health Records Department, which administratively underpins the patient’s journey to and through the hospital, both inpatient and outpatient care, to meet the needs of patients and health care professionals.
Everyday Responsibilities:
- Meet and greet patients on arrival to reception.
- Deal with telephone and face to face enquiries from all staff groups such as; patients, relatives and carers.
- Providing information, directing and prioritising.
- Book appointments.
- Administrative and ADHOC tasks as required.
Contract type:
Band 2 / Permanent Posts / Full Time / 37.5 hours

What we'll need you to bring:
- Educated to standard grade.
- Knowledge of health records and/or qualification at SVQ level 2, ECDL or equivalent.
- Customer care skills.
- Computer literate and keyboard skills.
- Experience in multi tasking.
- Knowledge of Confidentiality and Data Protection.
- Knowledge of handling and moving skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative (working alone).
- Good interpersonal skills including an ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff at all levels.
It would be good if you also had:
- Previous work experience in health records
- Ability to work in a busy environment
