NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
The shift pattern is Monday - Friday, 8.00am - 4.00pm.
The post requires applicant to be time served joiner/carpenter who has completed a recognised apprenticeship. A minimum of 5 years post apprenticeship experience is desirable but not essential. The applicant must have the ability and knowledge to carry out repair and installation of all aspects of joinery and carpentry 1st and 2nd fix within commercial buildings. It would be desirable to have a good level of knowledge, understanding and experience of suspended ceiling systems, metal and timber door/frame installations, stud wall installations and window systems in large healthcare premises. The successful applicant(s) will also have responsibilities to assist with training and education of apprentices and adult trainees ensuring they gain the necessary training and experience to meet the needs of their training program, this will also include some work with managers to identify and set up the training programs.
