NHS Borders Psychology Service is delighted to be inviting applicants for this new and innovative post of Senior Clinical Psychologist: Trauma Coordinator. This post will cover the NES TPIC Trauma Co ordinator role, as well as offering expert clinical, strategic, training and consultation/supervision to the forensic medical examiner/victims of sexual offences service that is being established in NHS Borders in 2020. This post is being offered as a fixed term post in the first instance, and we would be happy to support a secondment.


 NHS Borders Psychology Service is a dynamic and supportive service that aims to offer delivery, training and supervision in psychological therapies to the NHS Borders, a rural population of 115,000 people. We are currently undergoing an exciting transformation process which aims to deliver mental health services and psychological therapies in a range of intensities and contexts from primary care to inpatient and rehabilitation.


We are in easy reach of Edinburgh – with the majority of our staff based in the capital, often car-sharing. The recent addition of the Tweedbank rail service from Edinburgh has made travel to Tweedbank (45 minutes from Edinburgh and a 20 minute walk to the Borders General Hospital) an attractive commute.


The Scottish Borders is a lovely area to live in, with excellent schools, abundant local amenities and easy access to Edinburgh and transport links.  Superb leisure facilities including many golf courses, mountain bike trails, walking and other rural pursuits. There is good quality affordable housing in the region which provides ideal opportunities for a high quality of life in this scenic part of the country.
