We are looking for a Pharmacy Technician to join our pharmacy clinical trials team. This post will allow a Pharmacy Technician to work in clinical trials, while maintaining commitments to clinical and supply pharmacy services. You will have good communication and presentation skills, have excellent attention to detail and be able to prioritise your own workload.
This is a full-time post but could be shared by part time or rotational Pharmacy Technicians. Applications are welcome from Pharmacy Technicians who are registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) or those who are due to register in the next 6 months. You will be required to complete local pharmacy clinical trials in-house training programme and 2 yearly Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training.
You will work primarily within clinical trials but also do sessions in dispensary, clinical and other pharmacy areas. You will be required to communicate with all levels of staff within pharmacy, nursing staff in clinical areas, staff in the Research and Development department, clinical trial sponsors, transport and portering staff within and out with the health service, and with patients at the dispensary reception.
Further career progression opportunities may be available in the future within the clinical trials pharmacy team for the right candidate.
Hospital experience is not essential as full training will be provided.
You will be based at the Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy but will be required to work at both Queen Margaret and Victoria Hospital Pharmacy Departments. To meet the needs of the service, your work pattern will support 7 day working.
