Roxburghe House is a Specialist Palliative Care Unit based within Royal Victoria Hospital, Dundee and is part of NHS Tayside. The unit is purpose built to offer specialist palliative care to both in-patients and day patients with complex palliative care needs.
An opportunity has arisen for a Band 7, Highly Specialist Physiotherapist in a Team Leader capacity working as part of the multi-disciplinary team providing specialist palliative care to patients with complex psychological, physical, emotional and spiritual needs. The post holder will have excellent communication skills and evidence of relevant personal development are essential.
You must be able to demonstrate complex clinical reasoning, extensive relevant experience and sound knowledge of the physiotherapy clinical assessment, treatment and rehabilitation in line with the evidence base and best practice. You should have clear evidence of ongoing professional development and understanding of clinical guidelines and standards relating to Specialist Palliative Care.
You will have responsibility for the education, supervision and development of more junior staff, support workers and students within the speciality, provide a specialised resource to the other healthcare staff/patients/carers and have an active involvement in Clinical Governance, Clinical Audit, Clinical Effectiveness and Research.
