In fulfilling its duties as a Sponsor of clinical trials, NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde Health Board wish to appoint an experienced person as Clinical Trial Monitor to
provide support to researchers and monitor in compliance with Good Clinical Practice. As part of the Research and Development Governance team, you will report to the Lead Clinical Trial Monitor. The postholder will be required to travel to NHS Hospitals/study sites (UK-wide) to review compliance with research protocols and study conduct according to regulations (GCP, REC). The postholder will contribute to the review and update of monitoring procedures, attend trial specific meetings for the governance team, ensure compliance and consistency to regulatory and local procedures, review protocol deviations and have the knowledge to identify serious breaches of GCP. The Clinical Trial Monitor will be required to utilise databases (including Q-Pulse), track non-compliances and adhere to monitoring plans and SOPs.
Experience in clinical trial monitoring/clinical research activity and a degree (scientific or Nursing/Allied Health professional) are essential. You will have excellent communication skills and show initiative, independent working and judgement. The hours of this post are 37.5 hrs with flexible working required to meet departmental needs. The post requires travelling to sites and will involve time away from home.
