An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to apply for the role of Macmillan Breast Care Nurse, joining a well established Breast Service team within NHS Forth Valley.

The Successful candidate will be required as part of their duties: 
• To provide all relevant care, surgical and/or oncology, to patients diagnosed with breast disease/cancer during their pathway
• Provide all relevant care, to include psychological/emotional care, during the patient journey which will include initial assessment; diagnosis; pre and post-surgical care and on-going treatments.
• Involvement in providing support for all Oncology patients and their families throughout diagnosis, treatment, symptom control, palliative care and terminal stages.
• Provide verbal and written information to the patient regarding their treatment and diagnosis in order to explain and help patients understand their diagnosis, investigations and results.
• Perform a holistic-needs assessment to ensure that health; social and emotional needs are addressed.

Previous experience with breast cancer patients is desirable along with evidence of excellent communication skills.

You will be a Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration, experience within cancer care setting desirable as well as knowledge of breast treatments, however appropriate training will be arranged. Evidence of an appropriate education pathway or commitment to undertake additional learning is essential.
