About Us
The Ayrshire Hospice provides quality specialist palliative care for adults with life-limiting illness within Ayrshire and Arran. We provide a wide range of services and care in people’s homes, care homes and hospitals, as well as in the hospice itself. This is provided at no cost to our patients or their families. Our vision is to reach and improve the lives of everyone in Ayrshire affected by life-limiting illness.
What We Are Looking For
Join our dedicated team at The Ayrshire Hospice and become an integral part of our commitment to providing exceptional care to patients with life-limiting illnesses. We are currently seeking a passionate Charge Nurse to join our dynamic, multi-disciplinary team at our 11-bedded In-Patient Unit (IPU).
This is an opportunity for a compassionate nurse to lead our team with professionalism and empathy. As a Charge Nurse, you will play a pivotal role in providing guidance and support to our healthcare professionals, ensuring that our patients receive the highest standard of care.
We offer great training, support and development to all our staff with regular PDP reviews, reflection sessions and inhouse training. Within our IPU, we have an excellent nurse to patient ratio which allows staff the ability to give individuals the care they require and provide support to them and their families. The Charge Nurse will work alongside nurses, doctors, clinical pharmacist, social workers and allied health professionals to provide care for patients who may have been referred for symptom management, MDT assessment, Nursing care, Respite and end of life care.
We are currently based within East Ayrshire Community Hospital in Cumnock on a temporary basis until the completion of building work within our previous base at Racecourse Road in Ayr (Winter 2024). We will then return to a bespoke and specifically designed unit (12 beds) which will have all the requirements to care for our patients in the best way possible.
As part of the hospice team, you can enjoy a variety of benefits including a competitive salary, generous annual leave, NHS or organisational pension scheme, employee assistance programme, comprehensive induction, continuous learning and development opportunities and access to the NHS Staff Benefits Scheme
