The Gastroenterology Service is recruiting a Band 6 for 37.5 hours per week working across - Royal Alexandra and Inverclyde Royal.  The Gastroenterology service is expanding with exciting new developments in treatments, care and patient management. Clinical assessment, planning and implementation of treatment strategies for Hepatology and Paracentisis management are the main criteria of this role. You will following a period of training and support work independently and have the ability to manage your workload. You will work within the Gastroenterology nursing teams in Clyde and collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team.  We are looking for an experienced, registered nurse with excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. You will be required to maintain and develop relationships with a wide range of internal and external contacts. Staff training provision is also required.  You will provide a clinic at both the Royal Alexandra and Inverclyde Royal Hospital.  Participation in MDT meetings and a confident approach when liaising with medical and nursing teams is essential. This is a clinical gastroenterology role and while Hepatology & Liver disease is a particular focus, the role will include support for the existing Gastroenterology services within Clyde. The role requires you to work with patients, relatives/carers, primary care healthcare teams and GPs in order to promote early recognition of disease relapse, prompt management and preventing the need for unnecessary admission/readmission to hospital.  Full induction and training will be facilitated by three senior Gastroenterology nurses, provided on both Clyde sites. This role is an exceptional opportunity for someone to further develop in this role and in addition the Gastroenterology nursing service.  It is essential that you are currently a Registered Nurse with the NMC and that you have substantial post registration experience and that you have significant experience with gastroeenterology/hepatic conditions. You should also be competent in Venepuncture and Cannulation skills and IV Drug Administration.   For informal enquiries please contact either:  CNS Seth Squires, Allan Boal or Ash Bradley on 0141 532 7314
