Job Advert

As part of improvement work to reduce waste and improve sustainability, we are looking for an enthusiastic and detail oriented Pharmacy Support Worker to join our Pharmacy Stores team, working to process returned medicines.

This role will involve assessing and processing medicines which have been returned from wards, collecting data on medicines returned, developing organisational systems for our returns room and assisting senior staff in implementing strategies to reduce waste.

You will need to be organised, self-motivated and be confident in using computer systems especially Excel.

Previous Pharmacy experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.

If you are interested in developing processes, collecting data and helping to drive improvement and waste reduction then this is the post for you.

We are a friendly, forward thinking team and would love to have you on board – and we have cake club on a Friday!

The post holder(s) may be required to participate in weekend and public holiday rotas.

To learn more about the returned medicines improvement work and for informal enquiries please contact Rebecca McMahon, Lead Technician; Stores and Distribution at rebecca.mcmahon@nhs.scot or Derek Brown, Pharmacy Support Worker Team Leader at derek.brown@nhs.scot

The duties of this post require the successful candidate to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.  More information on this scheme can be found at www.disclosurescotland.co.uk
