The shift pattern is dependent on rotas–08.00-16.00, 09.00-17.00, 10.00-18.00 & 11.00-19.00.

An opportunity has arisen to work within the Endoscopy Decontamination (EDU) at Gartnavel General Hospital. The core activity of the EDU is the decontamination, disinfection, assembly, packaging and distribution of reusable flexible endoscopes, in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Currently we have 1 post available in the unit on a permanent contract. The post requires minimum one year of experience working within an EDU or sterile services department. A good team-worker with general education including literacy and numeracy skills, together with good manual dexterity are desirable.

Knowledge, Training and/or experience required:

  • Required to complete departmental competencies
  • Undertake all Statutory/ Mandatory Training
  • Undertake and complete mandatory HCSW standards
  • Applicants should have effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Applicants should have the ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively in a fast paced busy environment
  • Applicants should have a working knowledge of basic information technology
