Job Advert

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Paediatric Occupational Therapy Team based at the Cherry Tree Therapy Centre, Dr Grays Hospital, Elgin as an Occupational Therapy Support Worker.

The successful candidate will support our small team of Paediatric Occupational Therapists to work in partnership with parents and carers to enable children to be as independent as possible in all areas of life. Our primary goal is to facilitate children to develop, improve and maintain the skills, behaviours and relationships needed for independent living. Children referred to Occupational Therapy may have difficulty with physical skills affecting their ability to participate in meaningful occupations such as playing with toys, pencil tasks, use of cutlery and dressing. Children may also present with sensory difficulties and may find some everyday situations overwhelming. Children may be assessed by Occupational Therapy in a variety of settings.

The post holder will be able to work with children with varying needs at Cherrytree Therapy Centre or in community settings and be willing to undertake further training as required. Experience of working with children is preferred. You will be clinically supervised by a qualified Occupational Therapist and be able to carry out Occupational Therapy programmes prescribed by qualified staff. Support with administration duties may be required.

The Moray Occupational Therapy Team is a well-established team with robust supervision, mentoring, quality review and audit frameworks and we strive to provide an excellent service to our patients.
