The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a Service Management function in respect of core NHSL systems as well as representing NHSL in discussions nationally in respect of national system and service developments. The role of the eHealth Service Manager is pivotal in the relationship between eHealth and the main service areas delivering care to patients in NHSL. The main functions the post holder will perform in the provision of a Service Management service include:
1) Supporting the delivery of the eHealth strategy through the application of robust process driven service management arrangements between eHealth and the wider service environment of NHS Lanarkshire.
2) Ensuring there are adequate arrangements in place between NHSL and its main system suppliers for the review of supplier performance against service requirements.
3) Understanding, documenting and communicating detail of service/department requirements within the wider eHealth department ensuring that these are understood in the delivery of eHealth solutions.
4) Promoting the eHealth strategy within NHSL, and to external stakeholders as appropriate, and ensuring that eHealth solutions comply with local governance and national legislative requirements.
5) Contributing to the implementation of eHealth delivery plans by participating with senior eHealth colleagues in the creation of such plans, based on knowledge of service requirements, as well as monitoring and reporting upon the delivery of such plans.
6) Plan and manage the activities of staff across a range of eHealth and service functions in the implementation of aspects of the eHealth delivery plan.
The post holder will successfully manage, ensure availability, provide supplier/vendor management and reduce risk to the core system(s) within NHSL using service management best practice and methodology, i.e. ITIL, Prince etc.
The post holder will report to the eHealth Head of Programmes for Strategy Delivery.
