The post holder is accountable to the North Lanarkshire ADP[1] and the Scottish Government to develop performance and service delivery objectives within all Community Planning partner organisations in North Lanarkshire which:
Safeguards and promotes the interests of children, young people and families affected by substance misuse and reduces the level of alcohol and drug related harm.
Develops appropriate services and support for people with alcohol and drug related problems
The post holder is responsible for promoting quality improvement and developing Service Level Agreements within a range of third sector providers (e.g. Phoenix/Barnados) and takes a lead role on a range of programmes which address performance issues within the statutory North Lanarkshire alcohol and drug service, Addiction Recovery Team (ART). The post holder is also responsible for managing the ADP support staff to ensure the co-ordination, development and implementation of the ADP Strategy and Delivery Plan across and within ADP partner organisations in order to positively impact on the whole health and social care economy.
Possession of relevant management training/qualification relevant to working within the public sector and demonstrated expertise across a number of subject areas e.g. clinical practice, clinical governance, commissioning, finance, marketing.
Educated to/working towards operating at Masters Degree level in a relevant field and/or demonstration of suitable professional knowledge, development and training at an equivalent level.
Be able to demonstrate knowledge of NHS Scotland’s Leadership Qualities framework or equivalent framework.
Specialist knowledge of alcohol and drug issues, gained either through experience or postgraduate study e.g. postgraduate diploma in Alcohol and Drug Studies.
