An opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic Planning Manager to join the West of Scotland Regional Planning team, which has been established to develop and manage the process of regional planning services across the West of Scotland region.


The Planning Manager will provide senior managerial and leadership support to the Regional Planning work for the West of Scotland, contributing to the implementation of the West of Scotland Health and Social Care Delivery Plan.  They will form part of a team headed by the Director of Regional Planning which has been established to develop and manage the process of regional service planning for the five West of Scotland NHS territorial Boards, the Health and Social Care Partnerships and the special Health Boards including the Golden Jubilee Foundation.  Regional Planning is a developing component of strategic planning for NHS Scotland which complements the work already taking place locally within NHS boards and at national level.

The postholder will provide a comprehensive Programme Management and Business Change Coordination role managing the proposals generated within the programme work streams through the agreed governance process whilst coordinating projects and workstreams – including training and development as required - across areas of the Region to deliver the service redesign. They will contribute to the development of the West of Scotland strategic planning process and production of future service plans, including monitoring processes to ensure projects delivers in terms of meeting key objectives, relevant timeframes and budgets.

 

The successful candidate will be educated to Masters degree level or equivalent in a related discipline (management/healthcare/finance), with experience in the NHS or another public sector organisation working at strategic level, with knowledge of interagency working. They should be able to demonstrate previous experience of effective leadership and management skills, including excellent written, oral and presentational skills.
