A Consultant Clinical Psychologist is required to lead a team of around 15 psychologists working in Paediatric Clinical Psychology in the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow.  You would be required to provide clinical leadership and supervision to this busy team, this includes involvement in service planning and developing new initiatives in response to government drivers and local strategy.  You will also manage this team in conjunction with the local service manager, working to NHS targets.  You will be one of five Consultant Psychologists working into the Acute sector from Specialist Children’s Services and one of 19 Consultant Clinical Psychologists in Specialist Children’s Services in Greater Glasgow and Clyde.  There is supervision and support available from the Professional Lead for Specialist Children’s services and also from colleagues across the service. It is essential you have Demonstrates advanced theoretical and practical knowledge as a clinical psychologists which requires to be obtained through Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS or HCPC, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology. You should have significant clinical psychology practice experience in NHS or equivalent, supervised by a suitably qualified Clinical Psychologis and  experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course and presenting with the full range of clinical severity across the full range of care settings including outpatient, community, primary care, in-patient and residential care settings.   The hours of  this post will be worked Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am to 5pm.
