NHS Forth Valley has a vacancy for two Locum Appointment for Dental Core Training posts in the department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. One post will be split with Orthodontics.
This post is based at Forth Valley Royal Hospital, Larbert between 08:00 – 17:00 with expected travel between sites for on call purposes across Forth Valley and Lanarkshire,
The department carries out the full range of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and has strong links with associated dental specialties including Orthodontics and restorative dentistry.
Working within the department are 3 Consultants in OMFS and 2 Consultants in Oral Surgery as well as 5 Specialty Doctors and 5 Dental Core trainees with full nursing and administrative support. There are opportunities to participate in theatre lists as well as outpatient work using LA and LA/IV sedation.
Applicants should note that these posts give access to training/educational events, a study budget and the opportunity to complete supervised learning events. However, the postholder will not be subject to the review of competence progression (RCP) process and the post cannot be considered as a formal Dental Core Training post for future career progression. Eligible individuals may use evidence gained in this post to support an application for the National Certificate of Dental Core Equivalence. Details of this process are available at www.copdend.org
