This Speech and Language therapy Paediatric manager Band 8a Part time 18 hr permanent post has become available. You will be responsible for the operational management of the Inverclyde Speech and Language Therapy service and be based at Port Glasgow health centre initially then in 2020 move to the purpose built Children’s services floor in the new Greenock Health centre. You are required to have a Degree in Speech and Language Pathology and Therapeutics and a Certificate to Practice as a Speech and Language Therapist as awarded by the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists. It is essential that you are currently registered as a speech and language therapist with Health Care Professions Council (HCPC).Post Graduate Qualification in management or equivalent management experience. You should have evidence of significant continuing professional development and significant and extensive clinical experience and evidence of professional leadership. As the post involves : Responsible for ensuring the development of effective working arrangements with partner services, including the local authority education department, to ensure services are equipped to appropriately support the speech, language and communication needs of children. Provision of professional leadership across the local service, ensuring effective clinical supervision for all staff and compliance with all national and professional guidelines, policies and directives including clinical governance and risk management. Delivery of an agreed number of clinical sessions per week, with responsibility for the assessment, diagnosis and management of own caseload, maintaining associated records, and providing specialist speech and language therapy intervention to children up to 18 years old from admission to discharge. Access and use high quality and reliable activity and performance data in order to effectively plan, manage and monitor the service and the workforce. Work as part of the Speech and Language Therapy Managers network to ensure cross system coordination and consistency in the provision of this service and work effectively with relevant Service Managers and Heads of Service to deliver on this. The shift pattern for this post is 2 days out of 3 between Monday – Friday.
