Work Pattern: Fixed-term, Full Time, 37 hours per week.
Fixed term or Secondment** until 31 March 2025

Who We Are
NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is the national health board with statutory responsibilities to effect sustainable change through workforce development, education and training across the health and social care system in Scotland, while working at UK level with partner organisations.
The Pharmacy team within NES is responsible through the Executive Medical Director to the NES Board and through the Board to Scottish Government for the commissioning and delivery of postgraduate pharmacy education in Scotland.
This role sits within the NES Pharmacy team and will sit within the small, friendly and highly motivated pharmacy technician team.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a for a pharmacy technician with considerable experience as an educator to join our NES team on a temporary basis.
This is an exciting opportunity for the postholder who will engage and collaborate with a broad range of key stakeholders to develop competence statements to support the education and training of practitioner pharmacy technicians across all sectors. Practitioner level is the next stage following on from foundation practice and describes the largest number of pharmacy technicians within the workforce. The postholder will be aware of and consider the current and ongoing developments and factors influencing the education and training of pharmacy technicians.
This role will work collaboratively across NES and the NHS Scotland pharmacy service, bringing pharmacy technician education and training expertise to the national context, promoting, and supporting educational developments across the career pathways.

Working as a Practice Educator within the Pharmacy team you will have the opportunity to bring your unique skills and experience to the table, collaborating across multiple workstreams and Directorates within NES, to support future care planning for the people of Scotland.

Practice Educators offer a broad range of skills and experience, if you can offer some or all of these, we’d love you to apply:
Pharmacy Technician Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council
Significant experience practicing as a pharmacy technician in any sector (i.e. hospital, primary care, community)
Experience of working in an educationally focused environment
Experienced in the delivery of activities which support change and development
Ability to collaborate effectively and build networks and communities of practice
Experience of working collaboratively and flexibly within a team, across organisations and in multidisciplinary environments
Highly effective communicator knowing how to make complex information and language simple for diverse senior internal and external stakeholders (both verbally and in writing)
Demonstrate honesty, integrity, care and compassion when dealing with others, utilising tact and persuasion skills when necessary
Ability to work on own initiative, to organise and prioritise own workloads and that of others, and to meet strict deadlines
