NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is increasing our Staff Bank workforce to support our core staff deal with the Covid-19 outbreak.
We are seeking additional Facilities Assistants and Portering staff to join our NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Staff Bank .
Our Staff Bank enables staff to work varying hours on an as and when basis but can be on a full and part time capacity across a range of shift patterns including day, evening and night shifts.
Opportunities for work are available across all NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s hospital locations covering both Glasgow and Clyde (Paisley and Greenock )
Successful candidates will be allocated work in patient and non patient areas and will work under the guidance of both our Estates and Facilities supervisors and management teams and our clinical staff.
We are looking for staff who have a genuine passion for providing excellent service to our patients and can demonstrate professionalism and commitment during this critical period for us which will enable us to continue to deliver our services to the communities we serve
Applicants will be expected to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to work effectively in a team and to be able to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.
All appropriate induction and training will be provided.

The types of roles we are currently recruiting for include:
- Domestic Services – Cleaning and Catering
Duties include cleaning all areas of our hospitals clinical and no clinical locations - activities will include wet mopping, vacuuming, emptying bins, replenishing supplies, cleaning fixtures, and furniture and toilet/bathroom areas.
Our Catering Assistants are an integral part of the Hospitals operations, working on Wards and Departments providing all of our cleaning and catering responsibilities including assisting with the preparation, plating and service delivery of patient meals, stripping down and cleaning catering equipment following the meals service to ensure our kitchens are clean and tidy, so being a keen team player is key for this role.
- Porters
Working in busy acute hospital sites undertaking a range of duties in the provision of portering services, both planned and reactive.
