Job Advert

You will support the planning and delivery of cancer services across the West of Scotland so that the West of Scotland Cancer Network (WoSCAN) can achieve its programme of service modernisation, strategic service change, health improvement and deliver national performance standards within planned investment.  You will contribute to the delivery of significant change in areas where the extent of change (scale, complexity, degree of difficulty, experience or skill required to manage the change) exceeds that which would or could reasonably be taken forward within any one NHS Board. This will predominantly relate to quality and service improvement and may include, for example, regional work relating to service modernisation in defined specialty areas; development and review of regional/national clinical guidelines; and national work, leading delivery of cross cutting aspects of the National Cancer Quality Programme, ensuring that this is embedded fully within the organisations' business as usual functions. Working as part of the Regional Network team this will comprise initiating work streams, developing and agreeing work plans, including identifying responsible leads and timelines for delivery, leading project groups and progressing regional actions in conjunction with key stakeholders (predominantly senior  managers and clinicians), and leading/supporting service improvement/change.  A key element of this post is the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team with a variety of colleagues, both clinical and non-clinical, to ensure that all activity undertaken has clear, tangible benefits for patients.  You will be educated to degree level with substantial management and/or senior health care professional experience. You will have a demonstrable track record of managing projects of varying complexity, and experience in service planning and redesign. An understanding of cancer care and service provision is desirable.  The shift pattern for this post is Monday - Friday 9am-5pm
