You will manage, deliver, evaluate and develop prescribing support clinical services including the GMS Pharmacotherapy Service across HSCP/Sector within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (GGC) in line with local and national policies.  You will provide expert pharmaceutical advice on the safe, clinical and cost effective use of medicines to ensure optimal care of patients and ensure compliance with medicines legislation.  You will lead and develop a programme of research, audit and risk assessments in relation to medicines use,   You will be responsible for the strategic and operational planning within the HSCP prescribing service to ensure the delivery of agreed standards of pharmaceutical care and responsible for promoting the efficient and cost effective use of the primary care prescribing budget within the HSCP.  You will be responsible for development of prescribing initiatives including implementation and monitoring of the NHS GGC prescribing strategy.  You will provide professional leadership, expert advice and risk management of the safe and secure handling of medicines across the HSCP to a range of professionals including GPs, non medical prescribers, senior management and finance.  You will provide a key link between the HSCP and NHSGGC Pharmacy Services teams including the Central Prescribing Team, Community Pharmacy Development Team and Pharmaceutical Public Health. You will provide and evaluate specialist education and training to pharmacy and the wider healthcare team in relation to the safe and effective use of medicines.  It is essential that you have a Masters Degree in pharmacy and that you are a member of the General Pharmaceutical Council.  You should have a post graduate diploma/MSc in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent qualification.  The shift pattern for this post is to be agreed.  This is a fixed term post for 12 months.
