Associate Medical Director for Scheduled Care

If so then the opportunity you’ve been waiting for is here. The Acute Services Directorate is seeking to recruit an Associate Medical Director post to work with the Directorate Management Team and Medical Leadership Team.


The successful candidate will work collaboratively within a leadership triumvirate overseeing a defined portfolio of clinical services. The successful candidate will be flexible about how their portfolio is developed working closely with Heads of Service and Service Managers in Scheduled Care and Diagnostics services. There is also scope to work with colleagues in Primary Care and Social Care Partnership in integration.

The Associate Medical Director will also be members of a wider system Medical Leadership Team led by the Medical Director. The Medical Leadership Team will meet regularly and influence decision making for NHS Forth Valley, undertake prioritisation and assist in delivering the key strategic and operational priorities. The Medical Leadership Team will also have opportunities for learning and peer support.


The Associate Medical Director role is an opportunity to improve the quality of care for patients both in the Acute Services Directorate and across the wider whole system. The Associate Medical Director will, where required, be supported to further develop their leadership skills.


The Associate Medical Director will have five sessions, one of which will be from SPA allocation and four from DCC sessions.
