Consultant Psychiatrist in General Adult Psychiatry
North Ayrshire Community Mental Health Team
NHS Ayrshire & Arran is seeking to recruit a dynamic and enthusiastic General Adult Psychiatrist to join the North Ayrshire Community Mental Health Team based at the Three Towns Resource Centre. The successful applicant will be one of 5.0 WTE General Adult Consultants working flexibly in North Ayrshire, covering community and/or hospital-based clinical work in defined catchment area based on GP practices. Acute inpatients beds are sited locally in our purpose-built unit, Woodland View, within Ayrshire Central Hospital in Irvine. North Ayrshire Health & Social Care Partnership has a well-established Community Mental Health Team supported by a 24 hour Crisis Service.
The Terms and Conditions of service are those determined by the Consultant Contract and each post is offered on a 10 programmed activity basis. The posts include participation on an on-call rota pro rata. Applications from individuals who may wish to work on a job share basis will be welcomed, and workload will be reviewed regularly to ensure manageable and equitable distribution between the psychiatrists.
Appropriately experienced applicants must have Full GMC Registration with a current Licence to Practice and must be on the Specialist Register, or be within 6 months of the anticipated award of CCT or CESR at the date of interview. MRCPsych (or equivalent) and Section 22 approval under the Mental Health (Care and Treatment)(Scotland) Act 2003 essential. The post involves travel and a full driving licence is essential.
