Fixed Term / Secondment (to the end of March 2026), full time x1

We wish to appoint an experienced PA to provide a comprehensive and efficient secretarial and administrative support to the Public Health Consultant for Adult Screening Programme, and Public Health Consultant for Substance Use in Public Health.

Duties will include minute taking, diary and inbox management; organising the workload of senior staff; support for report writing and dealing with sensitive and confidential information.

The applicant must demonstrate the ability to work proactively, to manage their own workload and to exercise judgment when dealing with senior managers, clinicians, staff and external contacts.

Applicants should be educated to HNC/HND level or equivalent with relevant administrative/ secretarial experience preferably in an NHS setting, or have significant relevant administrative/secretarial experience in the NHS or similar working environment.

The post holder must have minute taking skills and experience, and IT knowledge, with specific experience in the use of Word, PowerPoint and Excel software packages.

Internal - Written approval must be sought from your line manager prior to applying for this secondment. You will be required to bring this if shortlisted for interview.

You will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.

Hours of work are up to 37 hours per week. We require the post holder to provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support five days a week Monday – Friday 0900-1700; flexi-time is offered.
