The North East of Scotland Breast Screening Service requires a reliable, conscientious person who is able to adapt to a flexible working pattern providing driver/maintenance duties at the mobile Breast Screening units which are sited at various locations throughout the year within Grampian, Orkney and Shetland.

Hours of work are Monday to Friday with core working hours of 6am to 10am. Start times are dependent on the location of the mobile units and therefore flexible working is essential, sometimes at short notice.

The NHS Breast Screening Programme is a high profile service promoting excellent teamwork and communication for all aspects of client satisfaction.

The principal skills required for the postholder to carry out their duties effectively are possession of a clean road driving license (HGV not necessary), knowledge of light mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks. Knowledge of generators and hydraulics would be an advantage. The ability to diagnose faults and to know when to report them to contractors is necessary. Excellent communication skills, teamwork and flexibility are essential.
