Join our dedicated pharmacy team at the St John’s Hospital and play a vital role in supporting the safe provision of medicines within a hospital services environment.
About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic motivated person to work as Pharmacy Support Worker within the Area Stores Department (Vaccine Holding Centre) at St John’s Hospital in Livingston. The successful candidate will be part of a hardworking, highly motivated team of staff who contribute to the timely and safe supply of vaccines to ensure delivery of the National Immunisation Programmes within locations throughout NHS Lothian. You should be an organised, flexible, motivated person who can work under pressure to tight deadlines and enjoys interaction with other healthcare staff.
Duties will include receipt of vaccine deliveries and ensuring their correct storage. Assembly of all vaccine orders for dispatch to Mass Vaccination Centre’s, GP surgeries, Health Centre’s and Schools/Universities within NHS Lothian, ensuring cold chain maintenance is always adhered to.
Previous pharmacy experience is advantageous (retail, hospital or wholesale) although not essential, as training will be provided.
This is a full-time post with participation in working Public Holidays. You will also be required to participate in an early/late opening roster.

About you
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Pharmacy Support Worker with a passion for delivering exceptional clinical care.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- National 4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
- A diligent, reliable, and flexible approach to work.
- An eagerness to learn about clean room environments and aseptic procedures.
- Prior experience within pharmacy services or stock management (beneficial but not essential).
- A willingness to complete an SCQF Level 6 unit as part of your development.
