The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.

We have an exciting and challenging opportunity to join our small, enthusiastic Health Improvement Team within the Public Health Directorate. The service is responsible for ensuring all pregnant people are supported about choices regarding infant feeding and people who chose to breastfeed are supported in the post-natal period for as long as they need the service. Candidates must have experience of breastfeeding having undertaken Unicef BFI courses or NHSH or third sector peer support programmes. You must have excellent communication and computer skills. This post will be based within local midwifery teams but will be managed by public health. This post is for a one-year fixed term period to enable evaluation, so a high level of administration skills is also required to support audit. An ability to work on your own while being supported by staff is required.

Open to NHS Highland, Highland Council Staff and volunteer breastfeeding peer supporters only – please make it clear in your application form if you are a volunteer.
