Antimicrobial Management Team Administrator
Band 4 | 0.5 WTE | 18.5 hrs/week
£30,353 - £33,016 pro-rata
Join our dedicated NHS Lothian Antimicrobial Management Team (AMT) and play a key role in delivering an effective and efficient administration service to the AMT in supporting prudent antimicrobial use across NHS Lothian.
All NHS Boards in Scotland have Antimicrobial Management Teams (AMTs) to support the prudent prescribing of antimicrobials across both primary and secondary care. The key members of the AMT include a Lead Clinician, Microbiologist, Antimicrobial Pharmacist, AMT Specialist Nurse, Data Analyst, and Team Administrator. The AMT collaborates with the infection prevention and control team, infectious diseases, microbiology, and other clinical teams.
About your role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and highly motivated administrator to join our NHS Lothian Antimicrobial Management Team (AMT) based at the Western General Hospital. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive and efficient administrative secretarial services to the AMT.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Delivering direct administrative assistance to all the AMT members.
- Managing a range of administrative activities including but not limited to:
- Managing diaries and scheduling meetings
- Providing IT support
- Updating Guidelines on platforms and keeping version control up to date.
- Contributing to the development of the Antimicrobial Stewardship role of the AMT, in response to emerging challenges on antimicrobial resistance.
- Working as a key member of the multidisciplinary team, supporting the AMT in achieving National Targets to preserve and reduce the use of antimicrobials.

About you
We are looking for someone with:
- SCQF level 8 e.g., HND level qualification in business administration/other relevant subject OR equivalent level of experience in a similar administrative role.
- Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) at minimum of intermediate level.
- Excellent communication interpersonal skills, as the first point of contact for our service.
- Strong organisational and office management skills, along with the capacity to prioritize and manage your workload.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
- Alignment with NHS Lothian’s values and a willingness to contribute to our dynamic team.
