Clinical Psychologist Band 8a

37.5 hours per week

The NHS Lothian is developing its Psychological Therapies Service and currently has 1.3 permanent Clinical Psychology post to recruit to.

This post will be managed within the Edinburgh Psychological Therapies Team in Lothian to provide evidence-based psychological therapies. The post will involve undertaking psychological assessment, formulation and delivery of evidence-based psychological intervention(s) for clients presenting with a range of complex mental health needs (Matrix 3-4).

You will be joining a team of psychological therapists and psychologists. You will be responsible for managing your own caseload from admission to discharge, including the prioritisation of waiting lists, to support the delivery of national targets. This is also an opportunity to be involved in Waiting List Initiatives to address the demand for psychological therapies in Edinburgh.

You may also be required to supervise, teach and support high and low intensity therapists or trainees. Experience in developing and implementing therapy groups, which are informed by a range of psychological theoretical approaches, is also desirable.

This is an opportunity to truly influence and improve the care experience for people seeking psychological therapy within Edinburgh.
