Are you a registered nurse with an interest in working with children, young people and families and wishing to develop your knowledge and skills - If so, we have an opening for a Specialist Nurse (School Years) The Promise, working as part of Health and Social Care in The Highland Council.
Initially, as part of a two year test of change, to recentre our practice on The Promise and the UNCRC for care experienced children and young people, we are developing a number of key roles with a dedicated responsibility for the health of care experienced infants, children and young people. This post is part of the new Promise (Health) team and will be responsible for assessing the health needs of children and young people, liaising with the local school nursing, social work and wider health teams (including primary and acute health care, community paediatrics and CAMHs) ensuring healthcare is well coordinated and easily accessed.
You will have time to develop into the role, additional training and the opportunity to visit other areas in Scotland to consider best practice. The post is a non-caseload holding Agenda for Change Grade 6 post which is fixed term or secondment until July 2027, and can be based anywhere in Highland. You will report directly to the Associate Lead Nurse.
