THIS POST IS BASE NEGOTIABLE WITHIN, OBAN, DUNOON, LOCHGILPHEAD OR HELENSBURGH

Argyll and Bute Health and Social Care Partnership is redeveloping services for children and young people experiencing mental health illness and distress. This exciting new post will provide expert management and professional advice, hold clinical accountability and maintain clinical excellence for the standard of specialist mental health provision across Argyll and Bute Health and Social Care Partnership (A&B HSCP).  Argyll and Bute HSCP is a distinct service with equal participation from NHS Highland and Argyll and Bute Council which ensures joint decision making and accountability.  The postholder will provide strategic leadership for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services enabling delivery of objectives and maintenance of a robust performance management framework. The postholder will work collaboratively with the Children and Families senior management team to achieve the objectives of the HSCP in the delivery of complex service development agenda within existing governance arrangements and responding to national policy.

The successful candidate will provide professional leadership within the service across the following Leadership dimensions:

Service improvement, design/ redesign and development

Research and innovation

Partnership working within the GIRFEC Framework 

In addition, the postholder will provide leadership and management in partnership with Argyll and Bute Council Education service in the jointly commissioned School Counselling Service, and will lead on specific mental health issues for Children’s Services for the HSCP within NHS Highland, also representing NHS Highland and Argyll and Bute at a national level when required.

Argyll and Bute is a predominantly rural area with a population spread across small towns and many more remote and isolated communities including 23 inhabited islands. Some of Scotland's most beautiful scenery and wild country offering access to the full range of outdoor activities is located within this Health and Social Care Partnership area.
