The Pharmacy Department, within the Golden Jubilee National University Hospital is integrated across its multiple services and the pharmacists in this post will work to provide safe, effective and person centred care for every patient, every time. They will work in collaboration with our friendly pharmacy team and be an essential part of the wider multidisciplinary teams. This is a great opportunity to work in a four pillar role in a dynamic team, with defined leadership duties over clinical trials, as well as clinical practice time, education duties, and scope to develop your own research. As part of the role we will provide regular planned development sessions, linked to the RPS Core Advanced Practice portfolio.
You will be also responsible for providing a full range of clinical pharmacy services and pharmaceutical care directly to thoracic, cardiac surgery, cardiology and orthopaedic surgery patients. You will provide prescribing support to clinical staff to ensure safe, clinical and cost effective use of medicines. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with policies on medicines management and medicines legislation.
You will be responsible for delivering the clinical trials pharmacy service across NHS Golden Jubilee University National Hospital in conjunction with the senior pharmacy team and the senior technician for clinical trials. You will provide pharmaceutical input into both commercial and non-commercial clinical trials and ensure safe and effective use of clinical trial medication in accordance with all local, national and international standards and laws.
Hours of work are 37 (reducing to 36 hours from April 2026) over 7 days and the post will include weekend working, public holidays and on call duties.
