An opportunity has arisen to provide first contact physiotherapy intervention in GP Practices and/or MSK OP departments based within Perth / North Perth.


You will act primarily as a first contact practitioner triaging, assessing and providing self-management advice to patients presenting to the service.  You will also have a clinical caseload within your main Physiotherapy department.  The Physiotherapy service also accepts referrals from Consultants, GPs, AHP services and NHS 24 Musculoskeletal advice and triage service.


You will have responsibility for the supervision, education and development of more junior staff and students within the speciality.  You will provide specialist resource to other healthcare staff/patients/carers and have an active involvement in Clinical, Care and Professional Governance, Clinical Effectiveness, Quality Improvement (QI) and Research.


You should have demonstrable highly specialist clinical skills/knowledge, from postgraduate courses/in service, as evidenced in your Continued Professional Development portfolio, with comprehensive knowledge of best practice/clinical guidelines/standards across trauma, orthopaedics and general musculoskeletal conditions.


Ability to administer corticosteroid injections and request imaging would be desirable but not essential as full training will be given.  Non medical prescribing is desirable with full support given to complete the NMP module.
