SALARIED GENERAL PRACTITIONER – Adult Medical Advisor
Part-Time (2 hours per week) 12 months Fixed Term Post
Salary – from £77,160 to £115,167 (pro rata as applicable)

NHS Forth Valley welcomes applications from doctors interested in working as a salaried GP with specific responsibilities for acting as Adult Medical Advisor. Applicants for this salaried part-time GP post will be providing medical professional support for adult applicants from Forth Valley for Adoption, Fostering, Kinship care including babysitters, adults in a ‘caring’ household. The post will be for an initial period of 12 months and subject to review following that period.
The successful applicants would support the preparation of medical information reports for the above purposes.
Working as a salaried general practitioner provides benefits including enhanced job security, paid annual leave, study leave and parental leave in accordance with Board policies. Every attempt will be made to ensure consistency of location for successful applicants to enable continuity of service provision. However, if circumstances dictate there may be a requirement to work across our board managed practices.
A good knowledge of the National Health Service General Medical Services Contract requirements with a good understanding of Clinical Governance is essential. Applicants are required to have evidence of recent continued academic and professional development. Applicants will hold a Certificate of Prescribed Experience from JCPTGP or equivalent and be registered with the General Medical Council and the General Practitioner Register by the time of appointment. A Royal College of General Practitioner qualification will be advantageous. Excellent, communication, listening and organisational skills are essential.
