NHS GGC South Sector Anaesthetic Practitioner Charge Nurse/ODP/Team Leader VACANCY Band 6
The Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow is a Major Trauma Centre. The Adult Theatre suite are looking for a Band 6 Perioperative practitioner for our fantastic anaesthetic team. The successful candidate will have the enthusiasm, determination and vision to work within the anaesthetic senior team. QEUH theatre suite consists of 22 theatres covering a variety of specialties including Major General Surgery, Urology, Renal, Vascular, Orthopaedics including spinal, ENT, Gynaecology, Obstetrics, Orthopaedic Trauma and Emergencies.
We have a large anaesthetic team consisting of approx 52 staff working a variety of shift patterns. You should be an experienced Perioperative practitioner with at least 5 years experience at a band 5 (NES competent) within an anaesthetic environment and also have evidence of leadership experience. The ability to work on your own initiative but also as part of an integrated team is required. You must have demonstrated ability of working in a complex, multidisciplinary, clinical environment. You will have excellent leadership qualities and be an effective communicator. You must also have the skills to deal with conflicting pressures in a professional and calm manner and be able to work in a highly pressured environment while maintaining a can do attitude. You will provide clinical leadership to affect a positive, safe patient perioperative experience, with the desire to continually improve the service, whilst being part of a supportive team.
You are required to demonstrate flexibility by working within a service that runs over twenty four hours, seven days a week. Furthermore, you will be expected where necessary to engage in multi-site working within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde in order to achieve the needs of the service. As part of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s pre-employment checking for all appointed candidates, evidence of current NMC/HCPC registration will be required prior to start date. You should therefore note candidates who are unable to provide confirmation of current NMC/HCPC registration, in line with projected start date for this post, may not be shortlisted for interview. This post requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland Check.
