This post offers an exciting opportunity for a flexible, enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our Dr Grays Hospital (DGH) in-patient team as part of our wider Moray Occupational Therapy service.

Dr Grays is a busy district general hospital, which includes the Acute Medical Assessment Unit (AMAU), Acute Care of the Elderly (ACE) unit, general medical, the Emergency Department, and a surgical ward. You will provide prompt triage, assessment and treatment of patients to maximise independence and facilitate timely discharge as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will also work closely with our therapy-led Discharge 2 Assess (D2A) team also based within DGH to activate early supported discharge home.

The wider Moray Occupational Therapy Team comprises:

  • Inpatient Occupational Therapy services
  • Community rehabilitation Occupational Therapy
  • Primary Care Occupational Therapy
  • Paediatric Occupational Therapy
  • D2A

If you are a newly qualified Occupational Therapist, we will provide you with mentoring and support to complete your Flying Start and Occupational Therapy Preceptorship programmes within your first 6-months to a year post registration.

The Moray Occupational Therapy Team is a well-established team with robust supervision, mentoring, quality review and audit frameworks and we strive to provide an excellent service to our patients. We also have close working relationships with our AHP, multidisciplinary and Health & Social Care Partnership colleagues in Moray and across NHS Grampian and national links. We offer numerous opportunities for personal and professional development within NHS Grampian and TURAS and easy access to local support and in-service training.

We are supportive of a good work/life balance. NHS Scotland has reduced their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 and from 1 April 2026, this will reduce again to a 36 hours but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.

Moray is an extraordinarily beautiful place to live and work.
