This is a 2 year fixed term training post which offers experience in all aspects of Primary Care Pharmacy Team work within a GP Dispensing Practice and care homes including: medicines reconciliation, non-clinical medication reviews, medication management advice, and reviews within care homes. Within the GP Practice dispensary, the training will involve the following: generating labels and dispensing medication, dealing with patient/prescription queries, stock control. The post holder will be working across various sites throughout Arran.
You will be supported to complete the Pharmacy Technician Training Programme delivered by training provider - Buttercups (this will be completed via distance learning) as well as completing a comprehensive in-house training package all of which are required in order to register with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
Previous pharmacy experience would be an advantage but full training will be provided
You should possess the following:
- Four National 5 Grades at level A or B or equivalent including English, Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry
- Numeracy skills.
- Communication skills (oral and written).
- Good IT skills
- Good customer care skills
- A car owner/driver is essential.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week. In accordance with AFC terms and conditions you may be required to work over 7 days and or an extended working day.
