The shift pattern for this post is: 4 shifts per week over 5 days Monday to Friday within the timeframes of 0800-1800 (condensed working hours).

Role of the department:

Community Treatment and Care services (CTAC) are part of the Primary Care Improvement Plan (PCIP) that was agreed as part of the 2018 GP contract. CTAC gives patients access to parts of their healthcare through NHS services that were traditionally provided by general practice.

This service includes nurse led CTAC Treatment rooms, vaccinations and GP based phlebotomy services. The post holder will join the CTAC nursing team to support the delivery of these services and will report to a team of CTAC Co-ordinator Band 6 nurses.


The job the applicant will be doing:

To work across services included within Community Treatment and Care (CTAC). The successful applicant will be based in CTAC treatment rooms however they will be able to work flexibly and support other CTAC departments such as GP based clinics and vaccinating in care homes or in the community over the winter period. Applicants who apply should be flexible and enjoy a varied role across a variety of clinical environments.

Candidates should have good organisation skills, good team working skills, and be able to manage a busy and varied workload, have excellent documentation skills and enjoy working within a busy environment.

All mandatory training can be provided if required


Skills / Qualifications:

A 1st level registered nurse with post registration experience is desirable. Community experience would be advantageous but not essential.

As part of NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde’s pre-employment checking for all appointed candidates, evidence of current NMC registration will be required prior to start date.

You should therefore note that candidates who are unable to provide confirmation of current NMC registration, in line with projected start date for this post, may not be shortlisted for interview. This post requires PVG Scheme Membership / Disclosure Scotland Check.

The role requires travelling across the Inverclyde area to visit patients in their homes, care homes, GP practices and in clinics/health centres. Applicants should hold a current driving licence.
