Applications are welcomed for a full time (40 hours per week) senior clinical fellow based in Glasgow Royal Infirmary (GRI) and adjacent Princess Royal Maternity (PRM). This post is fixed term from 7th August 2019 until 4th August 2020.
This post is suitable for doctors with at least 3 years experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, wishing to develop their clinical skills in a specialist area of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. The speciality areas available are: - Gynaecology Oncology (PRM), Urogynaecology (PRM) and Assisted Conception (GRI). The posts offer opportunities to gain experience in tertiary level gynaecology, including training in advanced surgical techniques. This post is not recognised for training; however the successful candidate will be supported by Educational Supervisors within the unit. They are expected to set educational targets dependant on level of experience in both the chosen subspecialty as well as general Obstetrics &Gynaecology, which will be supported by the team.
The Senior Clinical Fellow will work on the ST3+ rota, including contribution to the on call gynaecology and Obstetric rotas and will be supervised by a Consultant.
The weekly timetable will vary from week to week to accommodate night shifts and will include a minimum of 2 fixed sessions in the chosen subspecialty. There will be opportunities to contribute to the unit’s ongoing research and audit activities.
In-patient beds are located in GRI.
The Maternity Unit and on call Gynaecology services are based at GRI/PRM.
