Student Pharmacy Technician

Trainee – Band 4 (annexe U)

 

Salary 1st year – 70% of Band 4 = £16,980

                                                                                     2nd year – 75% of Band 4 = £18,193


*Please note this is a Trainee post, therefore Annex U applies*

For trainees covered by Annex U where the period of training lasts for between one and four years, pay will be as follows:

  • up to 12 months prior to completion of training: 75 per cent of the pay band maximum of the fully qualified rate;
  • more than one but less than two years prior to completion of training: 70 per cent of the pay band maximum of the qualified rate of the qualified;
  • more than two but less than three years prior to completion of training: 65 per cent of the pay band maximum for the qualified rate.
  • more than three years from completion of training: 60 per cent of the pay band maximum of the fully qualified rate.

 ANNEX U – ARRANGEMENTS FOR PAY AND BANDING OF TRAINEES


The aim of the Pharmacy Service is to assure quality of patient care in the provision of treatment with medicines. We are looking for enthusiastic motivated individuals to train as pharmacy technicians. This is an exciting opportunity to train across the various sectors within pharmacy.

Applicants must have a minimum of –

A National 5 at Grade A to C in Chemistry and three National 4 Qualifications in Maths, English and a Science subject ( in addition to chemistry) or equivalent SCQF Level.

Training to National Certificate and SVQ 3 in Pharmacy Services is provided through the workplace and day release attendance at Edinburgh College, Granton Campus.
