Job Purpose:
This post involves providing a Dietetic service to Queen Margaret Hospital and for older people in the Dunfermline locality. This will include hospital wards, some domiciliary visits and local Care Homes. This may also involve undertaking general outpatient clinics. There is the potential that this post would be included as part of a department rotation scheme.
The Department:
The Nutrition & Dietetic Department is a Fife wide service providing Dietetic care to one Acute hospital, Primary Care hospitals and the community. The department is currently arranged into clinical groups for; Acute, Diabetes, Mental Health, Nutritional Support, Older People and Infant Nutrition & Paediatrics. There are also specialist Dietitians working in the Health Promotion/Dietetics Food & Health Team and working with the Prescribing Teams.
The Dietetic department takes both undergraduate and graduate Dietetic students for B & C programmes each year; involving staff in the delivery and organisation of the programmes. The department runs regular department training sessions and supports staff in their continuing professional development. The department has good clerical support, IT, internet and library facilities.
Registered with HCPC, you will have the skills, competencies and experience appropriate for the post.
Working Areas/Caseload:
You will be required to work independently and there will be a requirement to work alongside a wide range of health and social care practitioners. You will be responsible for prioritising your daily workload and providing support to Dietetic students. You will be part of the Older Peoples team and work collaboratively to achieve their aims and objectives.
Any unsuccessful candidates will be offered the opportunity to go on the Dietetic Bank.
