The Area–Wide Eating Disorder Service, predominately based at Livilands Resource Centre, Stirling Community Hospital, is looking for an innovative and enthusiastic nurse to join the team. Applications are invited from nurses who can demonstrate a strong interest in eating disorders and who have experience of working with patients who suffer from a wide range of eating disorders and have significant experience of delivering evidence-based interventions. You will be expected to work independently with support from nurse therapists within the team and respond to the wider service needs.
The team provides assessment and interventions, which include psychological therapies, to patients aged 18 years and over, with moderate to severe eating disorders. The post holder would also be involved in providing assessment, interventions, consultation and support to a wide range of professionals, and developing working relationships with a wide range of professions to improve service delivery.
The successful candidate must possess good interpersonal and communication skills. Candidates must be self-motivated, enthusiastic, innovative and responsible for ensuring their ongoing professional development as well as being committed to active involvement in implementing service developments.
Prior experience of assessment, management and review of patients with eating disorders is essential.
Qualification in a Psychological Therapy such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy or Inter-Personal Therapy would be essential. An EEATS qualification or a commitment to undertake this would be desirable.
Supervision is provided within the team and there are ongoing continuous professional development opportunities.
Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.
