NHS Dumfries & Galloway are looking to appoint a Specialty Doctor to join an outstanding Radiology Department. This new specialty doctor post is based at the Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary. The Specialty Doctor will join the team of Consultants providing Radiology services across Dumfries & Galloway.
Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary and Galloway Community Hospital in Stranraer are filmless environments with Carestream RIS and PACS, supported by DR and CR in Dumfries, and DR at Stranraer. National PACS links to other hospitals across the country.
Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary is a 352 bed District General Hospital serving a population of 150,000, performing 90,000 Radiology examinations per year. Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary has a reputation for delivering quality care as well as being at the forefront of innovative practice. The range of services provided by the hospital is, by virtue of its geographical location, considerably more wide and complex than many much larger traditional district general hospitals.
In addition to routine diagnostic services expected for a district general hospital, Dumfries & Galloway is accredited as a Cancer Unit for the diagnosis and management of common cancers including skin, Breast, Head & Neck, Colorectal & Upper Gastrointestinal, Respiratory, Urological, Haematological and Gynaecological malignancies.
