We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual to lead the Moving and Handling Advisory Service of NHS Ayrshire & Arran to support all managers, staff and contractual partnerships in musculoskeletal risk reduction. You will be a Registered Nurse, Chartered Physiotherapist or other AHP with a wide experience of patient handling with specialist knowledge of Health Ergonomics or Back Care Management acquired through post-registration/graduation course or evidence of experiential learning. You should be a registered member of the National Back Exchange or other professional body, and meet the competency criteria outlined within the Scottish Moving and Handling Passport for roles at organisational and strategic level.
You will have a working understanding of professional codes of ethics involved in health and social care work. You will be a role model and promoter of excellence for personal movement, and be able to demonstrate effective body mechanics and posture, and to inform and facilitate the resolution of moving and handling situations arising in both clinical and non-clinical settings.
You will have experience of managing and leading staff; have excellent verbal and written communication skills; and be able to interpret performance data, identify trends and report on information to effect improvements.
A current valid driving license is essential as this post serves the entire NHS Ayrshire & Arran area.
Hours: 37.50 hours per week
