The purpose of ward 46 is to provide highly specialised nursing care for the patients admitted within the ward. The ward admits adult acute medical patients on a short stay basis and adult head injury patients directly from A&E department, ICU or Neurological institute at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. The aim of the Emergency Complex is to provide timely, patient centred care to all patients that arrive within the ward. As part of a multidisciplinary team you will provide care to patients in support of the trained nurse and will regularly work unsupervised. The purpose of the care is to: Competently perform the necessary technical/invasive/physical aspects of care for this defined patient group within defined parameters: Ensure an effective delivery of nursing care is provided to patients to promote a quality service and provide, through agreed divisional policies, a safe environment for the treatment of patients and protection of staff. No qualifications are required but it would be desirable if you have experience of working within a busy caring environment. The shift pattern for this post is 24 hour rotational days/nights.
